Toyota worldwide auto production increased 24.9% in October

Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) announced its production, domestic sales and export results, including those for subsidiaries Daihatsu Motor Company Ltd. and Hino Motors Ltd., for October 2010.

  • Decrease
  • Lexus-vehicle sales totaled 2,068 units (44.5 percent decrease)
  • 53.6% share of market excluding minivehicles (1.4% increase); first increase in three months and record high for month of October

Daihatsu

  • First decrease in nine months
  • Minivehicle sales totaled approximately 40,200 units (18.7% decrease); first decrease in 10 months
  • 36.2% share of minivehicle market (1.1% decrease); first decrease in three months

Hino

  • Decrease
  • Standard-truck sales totaled approximately 800 (12.5% decrease)
  • 28.8% share of the truck* market (1.3% increase)

Toyota + Daihatsu + Hino

  • Decrease
  • 47.86% share of market including minivehicles (0.03% increase); first increase in three months and record high for a single month

* Maximum loading capacity of four tons or more; excluding imported trucks


EXPORTS
Toyota: Decrease, due to decreased exports to North America and the Middle East

Daihatsu: Decrease, due to decreased exports to Oceania, Africa, the Middle East and Europe

Hino: Twelfth consecutive month of increase, due to increased exports to Asia, North America, Latin America, Europe and Africa

Toyota: Decrease, due to decreased production in Australia, Europe, North America and other regions

Daihatsu: Twelfth consecutive month of increase, due to increased production in Indonesia and other regions
