Leaders from the state of Indiana and the city of Anderson joined Nestlé USA executives August 22 to officially break ground at the site where Nestlé will open a new U.S. factory and distribution center in spring 2008.

Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels joined Anderson Mayor Kevin Smith; Nestlé USA President, Beverage Division, Rob Case; Nestlé USA Vice President and General Manager, Ready-To-Drink Beverages, Steve Presley; and leaders of local and state economic development corporations to officially break ground at the ceremony. The event lasted about 30 minutes and was staged at the 190-acre construction site.

Nestlé’s planned $359 million, 880,000-square-foot factory and distribution center will produce and distribute Nestlé NESQUIK Ready-to-Drink and Nestlé COFFEE-MATE Liquid products.

“We’re excited about coming to Anderson and beginning what will be a great partnership with the city of Anderson and the state of Indiana,” said Case. “Nestlé is committed to providing its consumers with the best-tasting, nutritionally superior beverages and this new facility will enable us to greatly expand our production and distribution capabilities and allow Nestlé to better serve its consumers.”

“Partnerships like the one with this great global company are re-energizing our economy. When a global leader like Nestlé chooses Indiana, it's a significant development," said Daniels. "With construction of this production and distribution facility, we continue to strengthen the state’s reputation as a logistics and distribution leader.”

Nestlé will begin accepting applications for employment in 2007. Anyone interested in working for Nestlé should visit Nestlé’s online career center at www.nestlejobs.com for more information. Further information regarding job fairs or other employment activities will be announced in 2007.
