The Brady Corporation Foundation has surpassed the $1 million milestone in the value of products it has donated to schools and other not-for-profit organizations, announced Richard Garrity, Brady Corporation Foundation gifts-in-kind program manager.
The program, started in September 2006, supports institutions across North America including the Boys & Girls Clubs, New York City Board of Education, and Cardinal Stritch University. Gifts have included VariQuest Visual Learning Tools, BradyGlo photo-illuminescent materials, custom identification labels and signage, hand-held label printers, and emergency relief kits.
“The gifts-in-kind program is a vital part of the Brady Corporation Foundation’s work, allowing us to maximize the impact of our charitable contributions budget with innovative Brady products. These products fulfill a wide range of identification and communication needs in educational organizations that align with the mission of the Foundation, which is to develop a pipeline of future leaders who will positively impact the communities in which Brady operates,” said Brady Corporation Foundation president Allan Klotsche.
“From providing BradyGlo material to the New York City Department of Education to illuminate exit paths in older school buildings, to donating a VariQuest Poster Maker 3600 to tornado ravaged Union University in Tennessee to allow them to quickly communicate important information, the Brady Corporation Foundation’s gift-in-kind program is working to meet both day-to-day and emergency needs of education institutions,” added Garrity.
The Brady Corporation Foundation was established in 2005 as the primary source of charitable contributions for Brady Corporation. In addition to its gifts-in-kind program, the foundation makes multi-year cash grants to non-profit organizations focusing on three primary areas of development: formative development that ensures a positive start through youth outreach programs and community outreach organizations; skills development that provides the right building blocks through primary and secondary school programs; and leadership development to refine skills at the college level and beyond.
