Anyone wanting to get an inside look at the only car and truck manufacturing plant west of the Mississippi could be in for a long wait. Faced with production cutbacks, New United Motor Manufacturing Inc. — the Fremont, Calif.-based GM-Toyota joint venture better known as NUMMI — will stop giving public tours of its plant after February 27.
