Fenner Drives announced November 13 that it has acquired B-LOC Corporation, the leading North American supplier of keyless shaft/hub locking devices (a.k.a. keyless bushings) for mechanical power transmission and material handling applications.

Fenner Drives already has a major presence in the developing North American market for keyless bushings.

“Combining the well established B-LOC brand with our existing Trantorque product line positions us as the market leader in the U.S. and Canada and provides a strong platform for sales growth in the Americas,” said Ian Smith, executive director of global sales and marketing at Fenner Drives.

B-LOC Corporation has occupied a unique position in the keyless bushing marketplace since its founding by Kurt Burg in 1982. Leveraging his proven track record in machine and product design, Burg built a company dedicated exclusively to developing new markets for keyless bushing technology. By providing unrivaled full-service engineering support, B-LOC built strong customer relationships, many of which continue to this day.

Fenner Drives, a division of United Kingdom-based Fenner Plc, is a world leader in the design and manufacture of added value, problem solving power transmission components supplied to a wide range of customers and markets. Manufacturing plants are located in Leeds, England; Manheim, Pa.; and Wilmington, N.C.
