The Oil & Gas Terminals Industry has the largest amount of project spending for 2007, with 32 projects totaling $2.6 billion. One such project, and one of the larger projects that has already begun construction this year, is Trunkline LNG Company LLC's (Lake Charles, La.) $250 million Infrastructure Enhancement Project at the company’s LNG receiving terminal in Lake Charles, La. Mustang Engineering LP (Houston) is providing engineering and procurement services for the project. Turner Industries Group LLC (Baton Rouge, La.) is handling the union shop construction project. Involved in the project is a 2 billion-cubic-foot-per-day topping unit, an electrical substation, a gas cooling system and plant-wide power delivery upgrades. Construction began this spring and is scheduled to be complete by the fourth quarter of 2008.

Other industries experiencing strong project spending activity this year include: Petroleum Refining with $2.2 billion, Alternative Fuels with $1.3 billion, and Power with $1.2 billion. Both the Chemical Processing and Oil & Gas Tranmission have greater than $900 million each. One of the larger projects planned is a $1 billion 775-megawatt, coal-fired unit addition at the Big Cajun Power Station owned by Louisiana Generating LLC (New Roads, Louisiana). If approved, this project could start construction in late 2007.
