NAM creates industry profiles for Congressional districts

RP news wires, Noria Corporation

The National Association of Manufacturers can now provide you with an overview of manufacturing’s presence in each Congressional district. This information is available at www.nam.org/manufacts by clicking the area that is labeled “Congressional Profiles”. Select any member of Congress to find the:

·         total amount of manufacturing employees in that congressional district;

·         total amount of manufacturing facilities in that district;

·         a detailed breakdown of the top 10 manufacturing sectors by employment in that district;

·         easy access to the member’s voting record, including a first-ever cumulative NAM Voting Score for the 105th to 109th Congresses;

·         contact information for the member’s office, bio and key staff contacts.

This site features data from the widely respected Harris Selectory and is the result of analysis done by the NAM’s Advocacy and Policy Research staff. These Web pages are hosted through BIPAC as part of the Prosperity Project (P2).

The information on this page will be updated quarterly. This is the only place one can find manufacturing data sorted by congressional district. Detailed information (including energy usage facts and export data) for each state is available at www.nam.org/manufacts by clicking the area that is labeled “State Data”.

NAM is requesting your feedback on this new capability or any suggestions you might have for making this and other manufacturing information more user-friendly. Contact Tim Lugbill (tlugbill@nam.org) or Keith Smith (ksmith@nam.org) with any questions or comments you may have.
