AFE offers virtual CPMM, CPS certification classes

The Association for Facilities Engineering is presenting the Certified Plant Maintenance Manager and Certified Plant Supervisor review classes online soon. It’s a way for facilities professionals to pursue a credential without the hassle of travel and time away from work.

 

The virtual CPMM sessions are scheduled for 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. ET on June 19, 22, 26, 29 and July 10, 13, 17, 20 using gotowebinar software and a conference call number. After the completion of the course, participants may take the exam as proctored by their company. Advance application and registration are required.

 

 Here are the topics scheduled for each session (order subject to change):

 

Day 1: Maintenance management and maintenance financials, and return on investment.

Day 2: CMMS and indoor air quality.

Day 3: Inventory and procurement, and work orders/work flow.

Day 4: Planning and scheduling, and preventive maintenance.

Day 5: Predictive maintenance.

Day 6: Reliability-Centered Maintenance and safety.

Day 7: Training and work cultures.

Day 8: Total Productive Maintenance and documentation.

 

The virtual CPS sessions will be held twice this year. This first set will be 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. ET on July 10, 12, 17, 19, 23, 26, 31 and August 1. The second set will be 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. ET on October 2 ,4, 9, 11, 16, 18, 23 and 25. The CPS course covers the role of the supervisor, communication skills, interpersonal skills, introduction to finance  and budgeting, leadership and motivation, safety, time management and planning, business law, interviewing and hiring, conflict resolution, problem solving and team building. You are eligible for the program is you have a minimum of two years in plant/facility supervisory capacity or a minimum of three years in the field overall.
