Total car production, seasonally adjusted, in the three months to March was unchanged compared with the previous three months, Britain's Office of National Statistics reported. Domestic production decreased by 0.8 percent in this period while export production rose by 0.3 percent.
In comparison with the same three months a year ago, total production fell by 6.9 percent, domestic production decreased by 8.8 percent and export production fell by 6.3 percent.
An average of around 126,000 cars a month were produced in the three months to March. Of these, around 93,000 cars were for the export market and around 32,000 were for the home market.
Seasonally adjusted, United Kingdom production of commercial vehicles in the three months to March decreased by 3.8 percent compared with the previous three months but increased by 0.7 percent compared with the same period a year earlier.
