Kerscher named president of BMW Manufacturing

Josef Kerscher has been named president of BMW Manufacturing Company, succeeding Dr. Clemens Schmitz-Justen, the company announced on March 30. The transition of responsibilities begins April 1.

 

Kerscher, 53, began his career with BMW in 1979 and has served in various positions as group leader and department head at the company’s Landshut plant, as director of assembly at the Munich plant and as plant manager of the Munich plant.

 

He is a graduate of the Technical University Munich with a mechanical engineering degree with an emphasis on environmental engineering. Kerscher and his wife have two children.     

 

BMW Manufacturing Company, a subsidiary of the BMW Group based in Munich, Germany, is the exclusive manufacturer on the Z4 and M Roadster, Z4 and M Coupe and the X5 Sports Activity Vehicle.
