Fire destroys Palm Harbor Homes plant in Texas

RP news wires, Noria Corporation
Palm Harbor Homes Inc. on December 4 announced that the companys plant in Burleson, Texas, was destroyed by a fire on December 2. An investigation is under way to determine the origin of the fire.

Larry Keener, chairman and chief executive officer of Palm Harbor Homes Inc., remarked, We are very fortunate that this fire occurred on a weekend and no Palm Harbor employees were in the Burleson facility at the time of the incident. While the damage resulted in a total loss to the production facilities, there were no personal injuries sustained. To the extent possible, we intend to offer our Burleson employees positions at our other Texas plants. All of the production previously handled at Burleson will also move to other plants where we have the capacity to handle the additional work. We do not expect this to materially affect our current production schedules, and, more importantly, do not anticipate any long-term disruption to our customers.

Palm Harbor Homes is one of the nation's leading manufacturers and marketers of factory-built homes.
