FLIR recently introduced a new thermal camera to help mechanical engineers, building inspectors, electricians and technicians reduce diagnostic time and begin repairs more quickly.
The TG267 is designed with greater sensitivity and resolution to enable users to inspect equipment and identify problems from a safe distance by visualizing the hot and cold spots that can indicate larger issues.
The camera can assist in troubleshooting a wide variety of failing systems, from electrical connections to mechanical breakdowns, within a temperature range of minus 13 degrees F to 716 degrees F. It also incorporates a contact measurement with a thermocouple probe for temperature readings.
Built around a thermal sensor, the TG267 features image-processing algorithms for high-quality images. The dynamic-imaging, dual-camera technology embosses details from the built-in visual camera over full thermal images for added sharpness and perspective.
A multipoint laser pointer can be used to indicate the area measured, while the light-emitting diode (LED) flashlight is helpful when working in dark, difficult-to-reach spaces. Bluetooth low-energy technology allows users to upload images and data to a mobile device for sharing and report generation.
Up to 50,000 images can be stored and played back on the 2.4-inch color display, which is larger and more vibrant than previous models. With a lithium-ion rechargeable battery, the TG267 can operate for five hours of continual use.
