RP news wires

Grainger, North America’s leading distributor of facilities maintenance supplies, on February 8 announced the release of its 2010 catalog including more than 300,000 maintenance, repair and operating (MRO) products, the company’s largest offering yet.

“As businesses and institutions are challenged to find ways to do more with fewer resources, now more than ever, customers are looking to Grainger to help them reduce the cost of maintaining their facilities,” said Mike Pulick, president, Grainger U.S. “We continue to invest in the products, programs and services that businesses and institutions of all sizes need to keep their facilities safe, efficient and functioning smoothly.”

Customer feedback drove the addition of nearly 85,000 new items across product categories such as cutting tools, shelving and storage, and fleet maintenance products. Many of the products in the catalog will help customers address key challenges in their business, including sustainability, safety and business continuity.

“Our customers have told us they want access to the broadest product offering with high inventory availability,” said D.G. Macpherson, senior vice president, global supply chain. “We’re continually adding to our product line and investing in our supply chain network so that when our customers have a need, we are poised and ready to address it quickly and accurately with a product solution."

Grainger’s 2010 catalog features product and technical information with tools to help customers quickly find the products they need to keep their facilities up and running. Beyond the product expansion to the catalog, the company continuously adds products to its Web site, with almost 500,000 products available online. The catalog is printed on 100% Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) paper, promoting the responsible management of the world’s forests and ensuring the origin of the paper and the entire chain of control meets the highest standards.
