Rockwell Automation is finalist for international ethics awards

RP news wires, Noria Corporation

Rockwell Automation has been named a finalist in the Council of Better Business Bureau’s 2009 International Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics – one of only four companies in the country to receive such an honor.

The company was entered into the international competition after competing for and winning the 2008 Torch Award for Business Ethics from the Wisconsin Better Business Bureau. Rockwell was first named one of 16 semifinalists and then one of four finalists.

Presented annually since 1996, the BBB International Torch Award illuminates the long-term value of honest and honorable business practices. It is presented to businesses in recognition of their superior commitment to exceptional standards that benefit their consumers, employees, suppliers, shareholders and surrounding communities. An independent panel of business ethics experts made up the judging panel. Leading up to this year’s competition, more than 1,000 businesses competed in local Torch Award competitions.

“Rockwell Automation is proof that an outstanding reputation in the marketplace leads to long-term success,” said Randall Hoth, president and CEO of the Wisconsin Better Business Bureau. “Businesses that do the right thing have a competitive advantage. They elicit the steadfast loyalty of their customers, employees, suppliers and vendors, and the global communities they serve, which in turn boosts sales of their products or services. I’m proud that Wisconsin is home to Rockwell Automation, judged one of the world’s most ethical companies.”

“I’m extremely proud of our company’s dedication to ethics and integrity in everything we do,” said Keith Nosbusch, chairman and CEO of Rockwell Automation. “It is a true testament to our 20,000 employees who work hard every day to do the right thing for our customers, shareowners and each other.”
