ComEd chairman and CEO Frank M. Clark on April 29 announced key organizational changes, which follow the recently announced retirements of president and chief operating officer J. Barry Mitchell; senior vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer Robert (Bob) K. McDonald; and senior vice president, customer operations Sally T. Clair.
The organizational changes also reflect the departure of George A. Williams, senior vice president, operations, who is leaving ComEd to pursue other career endeavors. Williams, who joined the company in 2006, was responsible for overall day-to-day operations, including construction and maintenance, new business, work management, distribution system operations, and outage and emergency response.
"Barry, Bob, George and Sally brought a tremendous amount of expertise and leadership to ComEd and replacing these accomplished executives is no small task," Clark said. "However, we have a responsibility to continue moving the company forward and we have talented, competent people coming into these positions. I am very confident in their abilities to lead our organization."
"George is an energetic leader who used his 25 years of experience in the utility industry to help keep our employees and contractors motivated and focused on improving service," Clark said. "He will be missed and we wish him well in the future."
Following is an overview of the senior leadership changes announced today:
