TMK IPSCO Kentucky plant ratifies labor agreement

TMK IPSCO was notified on April 22 by the United Steelworkers and its Local 1870 that union members at the Company's Wilder, Ky., plant have ratified the tentative labor agreement reached last week. The new contract replaces one that expired April 15, 2009 and will remain in effect through April 15, 2012. The contract covers approximately 300 production and maintenance employees.

 

The terms of the new agreement include a freeze on base wages for the first year of the contract, significant improvements in work force flexibility, an investment in training for maintenance employees, and introduction of a new incentive plan based on productivity, quality, attendance and housekeeping.
