Republic Engineered Products Inc., North America's largest producer of special bar quality (SBQ) steel, on January 20 announced the relocation of its Cold Finished Bar Products headquarters to its manufacturing facility in Massillon, Ohio.
The Massillon location is the largest of three Republic sites that manufacture cold-finished bar. The other facilities are located in Gary, Ind., and Hamilton, Ontario.
"Republic Cold Finished Division customers will receive even better service and will benefit from greater efficiencies now that our sales and manufacturing groups will be more closely aligned," said Michael Eberth, Cold Finished Division general manager.
The relocation of the Cold Finished Division headquarters takes Republic one step closer toward its goal of being the global leader in the cold- finished bar products industry.
"Our strong desire to continuously improve our customer satisfaction has led us to make this strategic move," said Jaime Vigil, president and chief executive officer. "We believe the greater interaction between sales and manufacturing will strengthen our cold-finished products and service capabilities. This decision is in sync with our overall objective of maintaining Republic's position as the leading producer of special bar quality products in North America."
