Alcan plant in Canada celebrates 35 years of operation

Alcan Cable, part of Alcan Engineered Products – a business unit of Rio Tinto Alcan – will celebrate the 35th anniversary of its Lapointe manufacturing facility in Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean in Canada on September 6.

The celebrations also mark the facility's outstanding safety record at having achieved seven years without a lost-time accident.

"Over the past 35 years, the Lapointe plant has consistently provided high quality aluminium rod products to our customers," said Ian Hewett, president, Alcan Cable. "The Lapointe team has every reason to be proud of its manufacturing, customer service and safety accomplishments."

The Lapointe plant, located in Jonquiere, Quebec, manufactures a full range of electrical and mechanical aluminum rod products. Its safety record reflects the employees' focus and dedication to the company's health, safety and environment program.
