Activplant Corporation, a provider of manufacturing performance management software solutions for manufacturers, announced April 14 that Tower Automotive LLC has selected the Activplant Performance Management System, Throughput Analyzer as its choice for throughput improvements. This announcement affirms Activplant as the chosen leader in universal standard performance management throughout Tower Automotive.
Tower has made the decision to implement Activplant's Throughput Analyzer as its standardized enterprise operational improvement tool and plans to complete a worldwide deployment of the application over the next two years. This recent announcement comes on the heels of five of Tower's facilities successfully gaining throughput improvements by leveraging the foundation of the Activplant Performance Management System: ActivEssentials. Tower will now apply Activplant's Throughput Analyzer across its global enterprise.
"Tower has selected Activplant's Throughput Analyzer as a standard global tool to provide visibility for all our plants while helping drive efficiency on the manufacturing floor," said Orrie Jones, vice president and chief information officer, Tower Automotive. "We are currently using Activplant ActivEssentials in several of our plants and now will implement their constraint analysis software to help us increase overall throughput."
"We are thrilled to be selected as a global standard within Tower. Global manufacturers are facing unprecedented challenges especially in the Automotive Industry. Many manufacturers are overwhelmed by the mountains of data and reports collected from the plant floor. Deciding where to focus can be a daunting task. Manufacturers are looking for ways to prioritize these issues and focus on the high impact changes that offer quantifiable, sustained gains with quick returns." said Activplant president Chuck Frosst. "The Throughput Analyzer cuts through this mass of manufacturing data and provides an unbiased view of the plant floor, identifying the chronic disruptions to product flow or ‘constraints,’ prioritizing their impact within the manufacturing value stream. This application provides manufacturers with the focus they so desperately need enabling them to prioritize their continuous improvement efforts on high impact areas within their plants.
