ISM now offers Chinese version of CPM examination

Institute for Supply Management (ISM) and the Chinese Federation of Logistics and Purchasing (CFLP) have joined forces to offer a Chinese version of ISM's revered Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) professional credential. The Chinese Certified Purchasing Manager (CCPM) designation is currently being offered by CFLP to supply management professionals in China.

"The CCPM Exam was created through meticulous conversion of written CPM Exam questions into equivalent Chinese written translations,” says ISM professional credentials/diversity vice president Christina Foster, SPHR. "After the initial translation, ISM and CFLP carefully compared the new CCPM Exam against ISM's CPM Exam to ensure that the degree of difficulty remained equal between the two tests.”

In addition to a parallel translation, conversion of ISM's CPM Exam into Chinese required that specific content be developed to address legal and human resource questions unique to Chinese supply management professionals. Supply management professionals who earn either the CPM or the CCPM have been tested on equally relevant and rigorous content.

The Chinese Federation of Logistics and Purchasing was recently approved as an ISM affiliate and seeks to recruit 3,000 members over the next three years.
