Manufacturing bricks from fly ash by-product

Henry Liu, retired professor in civil and environmental engineering, has developed a brick made from a coal-fired power plant by-product — fly ash — that takes less energy and costs less to manufacture than standard clay bricks. Liu's "green" brick has received recognition from such magazines as Time and Popular Science.
