Futura Industries receives SHARP Safety Award

RP news wires, Noria Corporation
Futura Industries has officially been presented the State of Utah Office of Occupational Safety & Health Administration "SHARP" Safety Award.

Futura, a leading manufacturer of custom aluminum extrusions, was recognized for this prestigious award after a series of on-site inspections by a State of Utah Occupational Safety & Health Administration team. The Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP) recognizes employers who operate an exemplary safety and health management system. Acceptance into SHARP by OSHA is an achievement that singles Futura Industries out as a model for worksite safety and health. Since inception of the OSHA SHARP award, Futura is the sixth company in Utah to receive this award.

Earning SHARP recognition requires an employer to request a consultation visit that involves a complete hazard identification survey; involve employees in the consultation process; correct all hazards identified by the consultant; implement and maintain a safety and health management system that, at a minimum, addresses OSHA's 1989 Safety and Health Program Management Guidelines; lower your company's Lost-Workday Injury and Illness rate (LWDII) and Total Recordable Case Rate (TRCR) below the national average.

Futura Industries was recently recognized as the "2006 Best Company to work" for by the State of Utah Workforce Services Division. This was the seventh year of this recognition. We were also recognized by the Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) organization as "Manufacturer of the Year for 2005" in the category of Continuous Improvement.
