Toyota says its global production in April rose 53.8% vs. 2009

Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) on May 27 announced its production, domestic sales and export results, including those for subsidiaries Daihatsu Motor Company Ltd. and Hino Motors Ltd. for April 2010.

Toyota

  • Ninth consecutive month of increase
  • Sales of Lexus vehicles were 2,996 units (68.7% increase)
  • 52.5% share of market excluding minivehicles (5.9% increase); 11th consecutive month of increase and record high for month of April

Daihatsu

  • Third consecutive month of increase
  • Number of minivehicles sold was approximately 43,600 units (6.5% increase); fourth consecutive month of increase
  • 33.5% share of minivehicle market (1.3% decrease)

Hino

  • Third consecutive month of increase
  • Number of standard trucks sold was approximately 1,000 (42.7% increase); second consecutive month of increase
  • 31.1% share of the truck* market (2.4% decrease)

Toyota + Daihatsu + Hino

  • Ninth consecutive month of increase
  • 46.1% share of market including minivehicles (3.7% increase); 11th consecutive month of increase and record high for month of April


* Maximum loading capacity of four tons or more; excluding imported trucks


EXPORTS
Toyota: Fourth consecutive month of increase, due to increased exports to almost all regions

Daihatsu: Decrease, due to decreased exports to Asia, Europe and other regions

Hino: Sixth consecutive month of increase, due to increased exports to Asia, Oceania, Latin America, the Middle East, Africa and other regions

Toyota + Daihatsu + Hino: Fourth consecutive month of increase


OVERSEAS PRODUCTION
Toyota: Ninth consecutive month of increase, due to increased production in almost all regions

Daihatsu: Sixth consecutive month of increase, due to increased production in Indonesia and other regions
