AK Steel Corporation on August 29 announced that it has moved its corporate headquarters into a new, high-technology office building in West Chester, Ohio, a northern Cincinnati community. The company announced in February that it would move its headquarters from nearby Middletown, Ohio.

The new 136,000-square-foot headquarters building is located at 9227 Centre Pointe Drive in the Union Centre area of West Chester. It provides office space for approximately 300 corporate employees who were previously housed in Middletown. The company said all headquarters telephone and fax numbers are unchanged.

"We are excited to begin the next phase of AK Steel's growth and development in a new headquarters building that will help increase the quality, productivity and efficiency of our staff functions," said James L. Wainscott, chairman, president and CEO of AK Steel. "The move to our new headquarters ensures that AK Steel's corporate team is better equipped than ever to service our domestic and international customers and support our manufacturing plants."

Among the features of AK Steel's new headquarters:

AK Steel continues to have a significant presence in Middletown, including more than 500 managerial and support personnel associated with the Middletown Works, a research and development center and other functions, together with the company's largest steel plant.

AK Steel produces flat-rolled carbon, stainless and electrical steel products, as well as carbon and stainless tubular steel products, for automotive, appliance, construction and manufacturing markets.
