1st Canadian SMRP chapter established in Hamilton

The Society for Maintenance & Reliability Professionals (SMRP) on May 14 announced the establishment of the first SMRP Chapter in Canada in Hamilton, Ontario. The new Hamilton Chapter promotes and supports maintenance and reliability education for people, production and quality processes to improve the work environment and advances reliability best practices.

 

Glen Saevil, reliability services product development manager of Ivara Corporation in Burlington, Ontario, was elected chair of the Hamilton Chapter SMRP board of directors.

 

"We have an exciting year shaping up and look forward to bringing the value and benefits of the SMRP to the local Maintenance and Reliability community in Southern Ontario," says Saevil.

 

The Hamilton Chapter's goal is to grow its membership and strengthen relationships with industry associations in the region. Maintenance and reliability professionals are encouraged to contact the Hamilton Chapter at hamiltonsmrpchapter@gmail.com to learn about membership and chapter meetings.

 

The 2007 SMRP Hamilton Chapter executive board members also includes: vice chair, Michael Reining of Dofasco; treasurer, Adam Gannon of Stelco; and

secretary, Sandra DiMatteo of Ivara Corporation.

 

The general board members are Carlo Odoardi of Ivara Corporation, Geoffrey Generalovic of Dofasco, Kevin Deverell of Commtest, Larry Cote of Dofasco, Liane Harris of IRIS Maintenance Solutions, Maria Carapina of Invensys Process Systems and Randy Grant of Ivara Corporation.
