Chesterton Introduces New Equipment Monitoring Sensor

Chesterton recently released a new internet of things (IoT) sensor and app to help industrial teams increase uptime of their rotating equipment.

The Chesterton Connect is a 24/7 equipment monitoring sensor that is designed to enable users to safely and conveniently monitor changes in equipment vibration, equipment surface temperature, process pressure and process temperature. It can be used on any rotating equipment, including pumps, mixers, gearboxes, motors and fans.

The sensor is easy to install and communicates with a mobile application via Bluetooth. The app supports multiple sensors to provide a comprehensive view of a plant's equipment health and alerts the user when equipment operating limits are exceeded. The collected data can then be exported for analysis to help the user understand the equipment's operation and take preventive actions to extend mean time between repairs (MTBR).
