Waukesha Bearings recently announced plans to expand its manufacturing plant in Antigo, Wisconsin. Once the expansion is completed, the facility will have nearly 100,000 square feet of space. A groundbreaking ceremony will be held on Aug. 8, with work expected to be finished by January 2020.

The Antigo plant, which is supported by engineers in Waukesha, Wisconsin, and Pawcatuck, Connecticut, manufactures bearings for turbomachinery across the oil and gas, power generation, marine and industrial markets. The additional manufacturing space will accommodate current production for marine bearing systems as well as new marine projects awarded to the company by General Dynamics Electric Boat of Groton, Connecticut.

“Our team here in Antigo takes great pride in the product we produce, and we are thrilled to be expanding our capacity,” said John Sullivan, plant manager for the Antigo facility.

Waukesha Bearings has been a part of the Antigo community for the last 45 years. The company also has facilities in the United Kingdom, China and Mexico to serve its global customer base.

Founded in 1946 in Waukesha, Wisconsin, Waukesha Bearings designs and manufactures engineered hydrodynamic bearings, active magnetic bearing systems and high-performing seal technologies.
