Oshkosh Corp. recently announced that it will establish a new manufacturing facility in Jefferson City, Tennessee. A leading designer and manufacturer of specialty vehicles and vehicle bodies, Oshkosh plans to create more than 300 jobs in Jefferson County over the next three years.

"With products and facilities around the world, we are excited to grow our operational footprint," said Wilson R. Jones, Oshkosh president and CEO. "Oshkosh Corp. is positioned for success in all segments, and this new manufacturing facility will allow us to continue to respond to the demand for increased manufacturing capabilities."

The new plant will house welding and fabrication operations in support of Oshkosh’s multiple segments. The company plans to renovate and occupy the former John Deere building in Jefferson City, and will be installing new machinery and equipment in the coming months. The approximately 500,000-square-foot facility is expected to be operational in 2019.

"We are thrilled at the prospect of additional jobs and the overall economic impact that Oshkosh’s presence will mean," said Mark Potts, Jefferson City mayor. "We also believe that Oshkosh will quickly become a real partner in helping to realize the huge potential of Jefferson City and the surrounding area."

Founded in 1917, Oshkosh Corp. is a Fortune 500 company with manufacturing operations on four continents.
