Emerson recently announced that it has agreed to acquire Aventics from Triton for nearly $615 million.

A global leader in smart pneumatics technologies that power machine and factory automation applications, Aventics currently has approximately 2,100 employees worldwide with five manufacturing locations. The Germany-based company reported sales of $425 million in 2017.

Aventics is expected to build upon and strengthen Emerson’s capabilities and solutions in key discrete and hybrid automation markets, including food and beverage, packaging, automotive assembly and medical equipment.

The acquisition is projected to close in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2018 subject to regulatory approvals, Aventics’ necessary consultations and other customary closing conditions.

"Aventics brings technologies, capabilities and expertise that are critical to digitalization of manufacturing, including predictive maintenance through integrated diagnostics, an important priority for our automation solutions business," said Mike Train, executive president of Emerson Automation Solutions. "Aventics also brings opportunities for Emerson to better serve customers in hybrid markets like food and beverage, providing intelligent devices and solutions from processing through packaging."

Headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, Emerson is a global technology and engineering company providing solutions for customers in industrial, commercial and residential markets.
