BAE Systems on October 16 completed its acquisition of Acton, Mass.-based National Sensor Systems following receipt of regulatory approval. With the $8.7 million cash transaction, BAE Systems adds advanced competencies in its remote sensing, photonics and laser communications technologies.
“National Sensor Systems has nationally recognized expertise in delivering highly advanced electro-optical systems,” said Dr. Ramy Shanny, general manager of BAE Systems’ Advanced Technologies business area in
National Sensor Systems’ engineers and scientists specialize in end-to-end design and manufacture of advanced systems and enabling technologies. The business will be integrated into the Advanced Technologies business area.
“National Sensor Systems’ technology edge in precision pointing and stabilization adds a new critical technology to BAE Systems’ rich technology portfolio,” Shanny said. “Their expertise will be a valuable asset across BAE Systems.”
