Motion Industries presents awards to top suppliers

Motion Industries Inc., one of North America’s leading distributors of industrial maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) replacement parts, recently recognized 26 of its suppliers with an Operational Excellence Partnership Award. This award was presented to suppliers who achieved significant process improvements with Motion Industries by meeting Operational Excellence performance objectives, including system connectivity, efficiency gains and customer service enhancements.

Motion Industries' Operational Excellence program was established in 2003 as part of its strategic plan to challenge and improve business processes and deliver superior value to its customers. Motion has involved key suppliers and customers as part of this program. The program provides the platform for identifying, developing, implementing, and measuring operational improvements throughout the company and across its supply chain.

Supplier companies receiving awards for making significant progress toward the Operational Excellence goals include: Altra Industrial, Baldor Corporation, CoLinx, Danaher Motion, Diamond Chain Company, Eaton, Gates Corporation, Klozure, Loctite, Lovejoy, Martin Sprocket and Gear Inc., NSK Corporation, RBC Bearings, Rexnord Industries, Rexroth Bosch, SKF, TB Wood’s, Sumitomo Drive Technologies, INA/FAG, The Timken Company and US Tsubaki Inc.

Several companies received special recognition awards. Nexen, Reliance Electric/Dodge, SKF Sealing Solutions and SMC received Superior Performance Awards for meeting all Operational Excellence goals. Emerson Power Transmission was presented the Leadership Award, which recognizes the highest-level accomplishment in the Operational Excellence supplier partnership program.
