IBEW Local 272 ratifies labor agreement with FirstEnergy

FirstEnergy Corporation announced that employees of its FirstEnergy Generation Corporation subsidiary represented by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 272 voted December 4 to ratify a 39-month labor agreement that runs through February of 2013. IBEW Local 272 represents 374 of 513 employees at the Bruce Mansfield Plant in Shippingport, Pa.

"This new agreement will help support our efforts to ensure that the plant continues to be a strong performer."

 

Union leadership and the company entered into a stipulated agreement on November 20, 2009. Union members had been working without a new contract since the previous agreement expired February 15, 2008.
