Peter H. Coors, chairman of Coors Brewing Company and vice chairman of Molson Coors Brewing Company, received the Beverage Forum Lifetime Achievement Award. The award, which was created by the Beverage Forum board of directors to celebrate individual excellence and extraordinary leadership in the beverage business, was presented recently during a special ceremony at the 13th annual Beverage Forum at the Waldorf-Astoria in
"Peter's lifetime of service exemplifies great leadership and commitment to excellence," said Michael Bellas co-chairman of the Beverage Forum. "He has been at the forefront of identifying trends and opportunities for his business and his industry, qualities that have helped Coors Brewing Company become one of the world's largest brewers."
Under his direction as chief executive officer and chairman, Peter Coors led the company toward its goal of becoming the nation's third-largest brewer and experiencing the fastest volume growth rate in the industry. In addition, he led the company in its international expansion, and Coors products are now sold in 30 international markets.
He is the fourth-generation of the Coors family to lead the company, a tradition that has spanned more than a century and five generations of Coors family members.
