Seven new and five re-elected members joined the 52-member Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce board of directors during the annual WMC membership meeting last week in Waukesha.
Thomas J. Boldt, chief executive officer, The Boldt Company, Appleton, was elected to the second year of a two-year term as the board chair, along with a slate of other officers for the 4,000-member business association.
“The WMC board of directors is united in supporting a pro-jobs agenda that will move Wisconsin forward,” said James S. Haney, WMC president. “Wisconsin’s economy will rebound so long as we have a competitive environment that promotes job creation. We all need to remember that when businesses grow and expand, it leads to job creation which helps our families.”
Thomas J. Howatt, president and chief executive officer, Wausau Paper, Mosinee, was re-elected by the board as a vice chair. Other WMC officers elected include, James S. Haney, WMC president; James A. Buchen, WMC vice president of government relations; James R. Morgan, WMC vice president of education and programs; Timothy L. Christen, CEO, Virchow Krause & Company LLP, Madison, WMC treasurer; and Tod B. Linstroth, senior partner & member of management committee, Michael Best & Friedrich LLP, Madison, WMC secretary.
New members elected to the board were: Gene P. Dalhoff, executive director, Baraboo Area Chamber of Commerce, Baraboo; Laura E. Kohler, senior vice president/human resources, Kohler Company, Kohler; Nicholas T. Pinchuk, president and CEO, Snap-on Incorporated, Kenosha; Charles A. Schrock, president and CEO, Integrys Energy Group, Green Bay; Todd Teske, president and chief operating officer, Briggs & Stratton Corporation, Milwaukee; Todd Wanek, president and CEO, Ashley Furniture Industries Inc., Arcadia; Kelly L. Wolff, vice president manufacturing, Green Bay operations, Georgia-Pacific Corporation, Green Bay.
Additional members re-elected to terms on the board include: Mark F. Furlong, president and CEO, Marshall & Ilsley Corporation, Milwaukee; Curtis L. Hoppestad, factory manager, John Deere Horicon Works, Horicon; and Joel Quadracci, chairman and COO, Quad/Graphics Inc., Sussex.
The WMC board of directors sets the business and industry legislative agenda for WMC, the state chamber of commerce. As the state’s largest business association, WMC represents 4,000 members including manufacturers and service companies; chambers of commerce and trade associations. Like WMC’s diverse membership, the board of directors includes large and small manufacturers, service companies and chambers of commerce throughout Wisconsin.
