Chrysler LLC on December 12 announced the appointment of Scott R. Garberding to senior vice president and chief procurement officer, effective immediately.
Garberding will be responsible for the company's global sourcing activities worldwide, reporting to Chrysler LLC vice chairman and president Thomas W. LaSorda. He rejoins the procurement organization after serving as vice president of global alliance operations since January 2008. He was formerly vice president for supplier quality.
Garberding replaces John Campi, who has elected to leave Chrysler for health-related reasons. Prior to joining the company in January 2008, Campi provided supply chain consulting services to Chrysler.
"I am grateful for John's commitment and his bold actions in the relatively short time he's been with us," said LaSorda. "He has truly made an impact on Chrysler. I have every confidence that Scott will do the same at this critical time."
"I think we have made significant strides in streamlining the procurement organization in terms of structure, process and people," said Campi. "Having achieved what I set out to do in joining Chrysler, I'm ready to turn over the reins to Scott, whom I'm confident will take the organization to the next level."
