AK Steel raising prices for stainless steel products

AK Steel said May 11 that it will increase transaction prices for all hot-rolled and cold-rolled stainless steel sheet, strip, tubular quality and continuous mill plate products by approximately 6 percent, effective with shipments on May 21. The price increases will be accomplished through a two percentage point reduction in the functional discount rate.

AK Steel also said that it will increase polish finish extras on stainless steels by 17 percent.

Headquartered in Middletown, Ohio, AK Steel produces flat-rolled carbon, stainless and electrical steel products, as well as carbon and stainless tubular steel products, for automotive, appliance, construction and manufacturing markets.
