According to ISM CEO Paul Novak, C.P.M., A.P.P., "Bob exemplifies a person worthy of the Shipman medal. He has contributed to the profession as a practitioner, academic, researcher and consultant. He is always a willing contributor to the association giving presentations and advice whenever he is asked. Many of today's practitioners were Bob's students over the years.”

ISM joins the members of the 2007-2008 J. Shipman Gold Medal Award Committee – Thomas H. Slaight, Aaron D. Dent, Timothy R. Fiore, Bradley J. Holcomb and David L.
