Noted changes in the rankings include:
* In law school rankings - Harvard University dropped to third place
behind Yale University and Stanford University respectively. Harvard
placed second last year in the rankings.
* In education programs - Teachers College, Columbia University rose to
second place after placing fourth last year.
* In medical school rankings - Washington University in St. Louis
dropped to fourth and University of Pennsylvania moved up to third in
the rankings.
"U.S.News aims to give prospective graduate students a better grasp of what kinds of programs are available and tips on how to enter the job market," said Brian Kelly, executive editor of U.S. News & World Report. "Our reports indicate that hiring is up across the medical, legal, and engineering fields and the job environment for graduate students is strong across the board."
