Companies eliminating or scaling back holiday parties

A new poll conducted by FreshDirect and BizBash Media reports that the declining economy is having a profound effect on corporate holiday parties during this holiday season. The survey of more than 200 event professionals in New York City revealed that 65 percent of companies are likely to either cancel or significantly scale back their annual corporate holiday functions.

Poll results also included:

·        38 percent say the economic climate is making their company rethink hosting a party this year

·        54 percent of respondents say their companies have previously held holiday parties in the office
