Senator Johnny Isakson (R-Georgia) appeared on the National Association of Manufacturers’ weekly radio program, “America’s Business,” to discuss the Employee Free Choice Act (H.R. 800 and S. 1041).

Isakson is a member of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, which recently held a hearing on the “card check” bill, sponsored by Senator Edward Kennedy (D-Massachusetts).

The legislation undermines secret ballots in the workplace and invites employee intimidation during union-organizing campaigns. If enacted, the bill could also lead to binding arbitration being forced on employers, government-imposed contracts that would set wages and workplace rules.
