Cummins' Solso wins Six Sigma CEO of the Year Award

The winners of the 2007 Global Six Sigma Awards were announced at a gala awards dinner and ceremony recently at The Rio Hotel in Las Vegas.

The guest speaker at the dinner was Tim Solso, chairman and chief executive officer of Cummins Inc., who won The Six Sigma CEO of the Year Award.

Winner of the Platinum Award for Most Outstanding Organizational Achievement Through Six Sigma was Texas-based Valley Baptist Health System.

Winner of the Six Sigma Vice President of the Year Award was Dr. Tomas Gonzalez, senior vice president of marketing, strategy and Six Sigma quality at Valley Baptist Health System.

The winners of the organizational categories were:

  • Best Achievement of Design for Six Sigma and Innovation sponsored by Air Academy Associates – ATMI
  • Best Achievement of Integrating Lean and Six Sigma – BMO Financial Group
  • Best Achievement of Six Sigma in Financial Services – BMO Financial Group

  • Best Achievement of Six Sigma in Outsouring – WNS Global Services Ltd.
  • Best Achievement of Six Sigma in Sales & Marketing – Unisys
  • Best Achievement of Six Sigma in Service & Transactional Environments – Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation
