Roxul to Build New Manufacturing Plant in West Virginia

Noria news wires

Roxul recently announced plans to build a multi-million-dollar manufacturing facility in Ranson, West Virginia. The new plant will cover 460,000 square feet and employ approximately 150 people in positions ranging from management level to the production line.

Roxul, which is part of the Rockwool Group, estimates the total investment will exceed $150 million. Construction is expected to begin in October on the 130-acre site, with initial production of the company's stone wool insulation slated to begin in the first quarter of 2020.

"We aim to continue double-digit growth in the United States, and this new factory will play a major role in ensuring we meet the growing customer demand for non-combustible stone wool insulation in this market," said Jens Birgersson, Rockwool Group president and CEO.

The new production facility will add to the company's already strong presence in North America, where it has existing manufacturing sites in Mississippi, Ontario and British Columbia. Production also recently began for Rockwool's acoustic ceiling tile subsidiary Rockfon at a new production line in Mississippi.

With three factories and 900 employees, Roxul is North America's largest stone wool producer, offering advanced building insulation, industrial and technical solutions.
