Eaton agrees to acquire Tuthill Coupling

Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation on December 16 announced it has agreed to acquire the Tuthill Coupling Group, a division of Tuthill Corporation. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The Tuthill Coupling Group manufactures pneumatic and hydraulic quick coupling solutions and leak free connectors used in industrial, construction, mining, defense, energy and power applications. The division had sales of approximately $35 million for the 12 months ending November 30, 2010, and employs approximately 220 people in locations in Berea, Ohio and Annemasse, France.

“Tuthill Coupling is a great fit with Eaton’s hydraulics business,” said William R. VanArsdale, president, Eaton’s Hydraulics Group. “This acquisition provides us with a more complete fluid conveyance coupling product portfolio for our customers and strengthens Eaton’s regional presence to better serve key market segments.”
