Nissan attains all-time global production record for month of July

Nissan Motor Company Ltd. on August 27 announced its production, sales and export figures for July 2010.

Production
Nissan's global production in July increased 17.9 percent year-on-year to 330,401 units, marking an all-time record for the month of July.

Production in Japan increased 4.7% year-on-year to 96,956 units due to increased output of the new Juke and the export models.

Production outside of Japan saw an increase of 24.5% year-on-year to 233,445 units marking an all-time record for the month of July.

In the United States, production increased 1.1% year-on-year to 30,808 units due to increased demand for Altima and Titan.

In Mexico, production increased 58.4% year-on-year to 45,419 units due to increased demand for Tiida.

In the United Kingdom, production decreased 20.8% year-on-year to 29,895 units due to decreased output of Micra. Production of the all-new Micra, which will be sold in Europe starting November 2010, will shift to India.

In Spain, production increased 63.6% year-on-year to 10,400 units due to increased demand for NV200 and Primastar.

In China, production increased 25.8% year-on-year to 86,582 units marking an all-time record for the month of July.

Production in other regions were up 96.2% year-on-year to 30,341 units due to increased output in Thailand, boosted by the strong demand of the new March.

Sales
Global sales increased 12.6% year-on-year to 350,470 units, marking an all-time record for the month of July.

Including mini-vehicles, Nissan sold 63,200 units in Japan, up 4.1% year-on-year.

In Japan, vehicle registrations in July increased 2.3% year-on-year to 50,714 units due to increased demand for the new Juke launched in June and the new March launched in July.

Domestic sales of mini-vehicles were up 12.1% from the previous year to 12,486 units due to increased demand for the new Roox, which was launched last December.

Sales outside of Japan increased 14.7% year-on-year to 287,270 units marking an all-time record for the month of July.

Sales in the U.S. increased 14.6% year-on-year to 82,337 units due to increased demand for SUVs and trucks such as Rogue, Titan and the all-new Infiniti QX56, which started sales end of June.

In Europe, sales increased 7.6% year-on-year to 47,490 units due to increased demand for Qashqai.

In China, sales saw an increase of 11.8% year-on-year to 79,461 units due to a high demand for Sylphy and Qashqai, marking an all-time record for the month of July.

Sales in other regions increased 27.8% year-on-year to 54,833 units due to increased demand in Thailand and India, where the new March and Micra were released, and Indonesia.

Japan Exports
Nissan's exports in July increased 34.7% year-on-year to 56,185 units.

Exports to North America increased 13.8% year-on-year to 29,614 units due to strong demand for the all-new Infiniti QX56 and Rogue.

Exports to Europe increased significantly, by 153.4% year-on-year to 6,203 units, due to increased demand for Teana and X-TRAIL.
