Texas Instruments named one of 'World's Most Ethical Companies'

RP news wires

Texas Instruments (TI) Incorporated has been recognized as one of the world's most ethical companies by the Ethisphere Institute, out of a record number of nominees. TI has been included on the list for three consecutive years.

The "World's Most Ethical Companies" (WME) list is developed annually by Ethisphere Institute, a New York-based think tank dedicated to the creation, advancement and sharing of best practices in business ethics, corporate social responsibility, anti-corruption and sustainability. Through in-depth research and a multi-step analysis, Ethisphere reviewed thousands of nominations from companies in over 100 countries and 36 industries in order to determine the 100 winners in various categories. TI is one of only two firms named in the category "Electronics and Semiconductors". The WME rankings will appear in Ethisphere Magazine's first-quarter issue.

"We are thrilled to be recognized once again for our commitment to operating with integrity and care for employees, our neighboring communities and the world," said David Reid, TI vice president and director of ethics. "TI's continued inclusion on the list in an increasingly competitive environment is evidence of the dedication of each and every employee to help TI operate as a responsible corporate citizen."

TI provides a detailed annual report of its ethics and citizenship activities on the company's Web site at www.ti.com/csr. The comprehensive report is used by a variety of stakeholders to understand TI's social and environmental performance, as well as associated risks and opportunities.

The methodology for the WME ranking includes review of codes of ethics, litigation and regulatory infraction histories; evaluating the investment in innovation and sustainable business practices; an analysis of activities designed to improve corporate citizenship; and review of nominations from senior executives, industry peers, suppliers and customers.

More information on the WME methodology as well as the complete list of the 2010 World's Most Ethical Companies can be viewed at http://ethisphere.com/wme-2010.
