Tempil is offering a new video demonstration of its temperature indicators for the welding and metal fabrication industries. Subject material includes how to make marks that melt within 1 percent of temperature rating. Lot numbered for NIST traceability, Tempilstik° indicators offer the lowest possible usage cost and are supplied with an adjustable aluminum holder with pocket clip.
The video describes how the Tempilstiks are offered in more than 100 temperature ratings, systematically spaced between 100 to 2,500 degrees Fahrenheit (38 to 1,371 degrees Celsius). They are precise and compliant for even the most critical jobs, including welding preheat and interpass temperature measurement.
Tempilstik° indicators are shown being stroked on a workpiece from time to time during a heating operation. Below its temperature rating, the Tempilstik° leaves a dry opaque chalk mark; when its rating is reached, the Tempilstik° leaves a liquid smear. On cooling, the melted Tempilstik° mark solidifies with a transparent or translucent appearance.
Tempilstik° brand temperature indicators have led the industry in providing accurate and reliable results for more than 70 years. Tempilstiks meet the preheat temperature requirements of AWS D1.1 and other applicable welding codes.
Made in the USA, each crayon delivers more than 11,000 6-inch marks that are NIST traceable and can be certified for nuclear use.
