RP news wires, Noria Corporation

WMH Tool Group Americas has changed its name to Walter Meier (Manufacturing) Inc., it was announced September 30 by Robert S. Romano, president. The name change is part of a global effort aimed at leveraging the presence of their European parent company, Walter Meier AG, to bring quality manufacturing products to a global market. Romano cited global synergies with other business units of its parent company, Walter Meier AG, as the primary reason for the name change. Worldwide name recognition of the Walter Meier organization also was a key factor.

Walter Meier (Manufacturing) Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Walter Meier AG, which is headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland.

The Jet and Wilton brands are being expanded from an American staple to a global market. The company also announced a new global brand Web site, www.jetwilton.com , which replaces jettools.com. The Powermatic brand continues operations under www.Powermatic.com
in North America.

For more than 50 years, JET and Wilton brands have been leading American manufacturers and marketers of industrial metalworking and woodworking machinery, material handling equipment, workholding tools, air tools and hand tools.

The alignment with their European counterparts brings synergy and an even stronger foundation to these already solid brands.

Recently, Walter Meier (Manufacturing) Inc. consolidated its infrastructure in the U.S. by centralizing its operations to its main facility in La Vergne, Tenn. Robert Varzino, vice president of marketing for Walter Meier (Manufacturing) Inc., called this “a decisive move to strengthen and grow the JET and Wilton brand names that reinforces the Walter Meier tradition of quality, service and innovation.”
