Boston Centerless receives Northeast Shingo Prize

Boston Centerless was presented with the Northeast Shingo Prize for Excellence in Manufacturing at a recent awards ceremony at the second annual Northeast Shingo Conference in Boston. The company was presented with a Silver Prize. Referred to as the “Nobel Prize of Manufacturing” by Business Week, the Shingo Prize is a premier manufacturing award and recognition program in North America. Boston Centerless is the first metalworking contract manufacturer to win the Shingo Prize.

The award recognizes companies that have demonstrated superior results from the implementation of lean manufacturing principles and world-class manufacturing techniques. Over 10 years ago, Boston Centerless embarked on a Continuous Improvement program in order to promote lean manufacturing concepts and eliminate waste throughout the organization. Teams are created to address specific objectives such as pull systems, 5-S and process simplification.
