Toyota Material Handling U.S.A. Inc. (TMHU) has been named to Inbound Logistics’ list of 2012 Green Supply Chain Partners. The company was chosen in part for its environmentally friendly solutions, green manufacturing process and continued dedication to supply chain sustainability. This is the fourth consecutive year TMHU has been named to the list.

“The list honors companies that lead by example," explained Felecia Stratton, editor for Inbound Logistics. “This year, we are proud to honor Toyota for its sustainable manufacturing processes and product portfolio of fuel-efficient industrial equipment.”

The Green 75 feature is designed to provide decision support for Inbound Logistics’ readers who seek to do business with sustainable providers. To be eligible for the ranking, companies must provide logistics services with an emphasis on eco-friendly solutions.

“We believe environmental responsibility is just as important as quality, value and customer service,” said Jeff Rufener, president of TMHU. “We make green initiatives a priority at our zero-landfill manufacturing plant in Columbus, Ind. In addition, we require our top 65 suppliers, who account for more than 75 percent of materials purchased locally, to have an environmental management system in place at their facilities, too.”
