Pall Corporation, a global leader in filtration, separation and purification, on November 12 introduced a new system for continuous beer stabilization that streamlines production and improves operating efficiencies for breweries. The Pall Continuous Beer Stabilization (CBS) System provides a seamless link in the production process between continuous clarification and final filtration that improves product consistency and reduces cost, labor and waste. The system debuts this week at Brau Beviale 2010 in Nuremberg, Germany, one of the leading exhibitions of equipment and technology for the beverage industry.

By introducing a continuous stabilization capability, the Pall CBS system enables an uninterrupted mode of operation throughout the production cycle. This eliminates the need for batch PVPP or Silicagel dosing and the associated costs of labor, time and product waste during tank handling. The streamlined process also enhances product consistency and maximizes throughput at customizable volumes ranging from 100 hl/h to 600 hl/h. The system is the perfect link between Pall’s PROFi technology for continuous beer clarification and Cluster Filtration (CFS) technology for beer final filtration.

“Pall’s new Continuous Beer Stabilization System provides logistical advantages in upstream and downstream processes that improve production efficiency and reduce operating costs. It is designed to fit seamlessly with continuously operating membrane filtration systems and allows flexible handling of varying stabilization demands for different brands of beer,” said Dr. Raimund Lassak, vice president of marketing, Food & Beverage.
